Club des Femmes is a queer feminist collective that has now been showing films, running events and changing the shape of programming and culture for ten years, having been founded in 2007 by programmer Selina Robertson and filmmaker Sarah Wood.

This year, Cannes started for Selina at Gatwick where she bumped into Desiree Akhavan, writer/director and star of Appropriate Behaviour, who was heading to the festival for the first time to head up the Queer Palm jury. She wished her luck in her duties.

Attending the Berlinale was genuinely exciting this year as the Competition felt compelling. Darren Aronofsky's jury was due to oversee potential cinematic riches with new films by Jafar Panahi, Wim Wender's, Isabel Coixet, Peter Greenaway, Werner Herzog, Terrence Malick and British talent Andrew Haigh (Weekend).
Arriving and experiencing Cannes on the second week of the festival has been a very new and really revelatory experience. My Easyjet flight was hardly full to pop!
