A gorgeous French animation (from writer-director Rémi Bezançon) about the story of Maki, a young boy who escapes from slave traders to go on an epic voyage from Africa to France – befriending a giraffe, crossing the desert and meeting a pirate on his way.

Under a baobab tree, an old man tells of the everlasting friendship between Maki and Zarafa, the orphaned giraffe who was a gift from Pasha of Egypt to the King of France.

During their long journey from Sudan to Paris – travelling through Alexandria, Marseille and across the snowy Alps – they will live a thousand adventures.

A charming and very touching animated adventure that will appeal to young explorers everywhere.
