The ICO, in partnership with Film Hub SWWM, are running an informal information session and presentation on optimising projection and sound reproduction in a variety of exhibition settings, as part of our Technical Skills for Digital Exhibition scheme, which provides bespoke advice and assistance for independent exhibitors across the UK. Led by technician Simon Nicholls, the Digital Projection & Cinema Audio Workshop aims to equip exhibitors with practical tips and ideas on maximising your set-up in order to improve the presentation and experience of screenings. Simon will demonstrate examples of good practice, present case studies from independent and community cinemas, and respond to individual queries in a Q&A session.

You will learn:

  • What to consider when sourcing or upgrading your equipment
  • How to configure your equipment effectively
  • Tips on how to optimise your space
  • General advice on how to calibrate sound to the acoustics of your venue space
  • Tips on the positioning and set-up of your projector, including screen considerations

This event is open to all types of exhibitors, from small community cinemas and film clubs to mixed arts venues and independent cinemas.

Refreshments will be served. 20 places available for Film Hub members.

This event is supported by the Independent Cinema Office, BFI FAN and Creative Scotland. Thanks to Film Hub South West & West Midlands.
