ActOne Cinema is seeking a new Assistant Operations Manager to join the cinema team.

Role responsibilities
  • Ensure that all films and KDMS have arrived on time, have been ingested, tested and scheduled for projection with the correct volume/trailers and lighting cues for each screen
  • Creating, ingesting and testing trailers
  • Creating promotional pre-show and media videos for special events.
  • Creating film entries and the weekly film schedule on INDY.
  • Updating and improving the website.
  • Monitoring and reporting any issues with INDY that may affect customer experience (membership etc).  Assisting customers with any website user queries.
  • Ordering posters for upcoming films and sending out weekly newsletters, covering all films and community events.
  • Liaising with social media colleague; providing information and marketing material on all films and events.   Managing Meetup groups and events.
  • Liaising and maintaining good relationships with community contacts and continuing outreach.
  • Dealing with requests for special events and private hires.
  • Carrying out any arrangements for special events, handling the projection and tech for screening and bar on the day.
  • Finalising the bookings for private hires,  handling the projection and tech for screening and any catering or bar requests.
  • Undertake regular bar/café shifts and other Front of House tasks. Keeping the venue clean, tidy and welcoming. Reporting any issues with the premises i.e security risks. Ensuring compliance with Health and Fire Safety regulations.
  • Manage the Front of House staff in the absence of the Venue and Operations Managers
  • Reporting for the BFI and MUBI. Researching for new funding opportunities and submitting applications.
  • The job requires working evening and weekend shifts.
Person specifications

The ideal candidate would:

  • have experience with CSS, Customer.io and Rosetta Bridge
  • have a good working knowledge of all technical aspects of programming and projections
  • have a good working knowledge of hospitality
  • be assionate about film and cinema
  • demonstrate the ability to deal promptly and politely with any customer queries or complaints
  • demonstrate the ability to engage with customers in a professional and welcoming manner

Training will be provided if needed in:

  • Fire Warden procedures
  • Food Hygiene and Safety
  • First Aid
