Young Film Programmer's Industry Session - Short Films & Activist Cinema with Philip Ilson

These Industry Sessions are part of a range of Young Film Programmers-focused activities, programmed by Film Hub South East, Depot and Reel Connections.

We’re delighted to welcome Philip Ilson (Artistic Director, London Short Film Festival) for our first YFP Industry Session of the new year. These sessions are designed to give our Young Film Programmers and others the opportunity to talk directly to people working in the film exhibition sector, addressing different aspects of programming with a range of experts from across the industry.

About the session

In this session Philip will discuss Short Film Programming and Activist Cinema, and talk about how to create dynamic and diverse short film programmes that challenge and excite audiences.

Philip Ilson is the Artistic Director of the London Short Film Festival, which he co-founded in 2004. He is also the short film programmer for the BFI London Film Festival, and has worked as a freelance programmer, including at the East End Film Festival (London), Cork Film Festival (Ireland), and the Branchage Festival (Jersey), Latitude music festival, and at Curzon Soho Cinema.
