Programme

Eventising your programme (Recording available below)
Thursday 23 July, 10:30 to 12:00

Creating engaging events that respond to the themes of your film programme can help your organisation stand out. Whether you’re delivering discussions, Q&As, themed-food events, music, performances or workshops, adding an event to your film makes new audiences more likely to give your events a chance and builds loyalty among existing audiences. This session will feature two case studies from organisations with a strong track record in doing just that: Doc’n Roll and Reel Connections.

Branding and placemaking for film exhibitors
Thursday 24 September, 10:30 to 12:00

In one of the standout sessions of BFI FAN CON 2024, experienced agency brand strategist Bernadine Brewer explored how organisations of all sizes could move beyond film-by-film marketing and utilise placemaking to build a meaningful brand story. We’re thrilled to bring a new session from Bernadine to the South East to help you think differently about how your brand can connect with your communities and audiences, inspiring loyalty and repeat visits.

Creating safe spaces for audiences
Thursday 26 November, 10:30 to 12:00

When you’re showcasing a wide variety of fiction and documentary films, you’ll often be tackling triggering or controversial subjects. Managing this for your audiences can take knowledge and experience. In this session, we will hear from organisations that have developed robust measures to ensure audiences feel safe, both at screenings and at events such as Q&A sessions.
