Youth Engagement & Events Manager, EIFF 2022

The Centre for the Moving Image is looking for an experienced and committed project manager to make the EIFF Youth programme an essential film event for young people in Edinburgh and across Scotland.

About the role

Reporting to the CMI’s Head of Community Engagement & Learning and working with the wider CMI and EIFF team, the role is responsible for the creation, promotion and delivery of the EIFF Youth programme of events and activities, managing budgets, schedules and partnerships, developing and engaging audiences, and coordinating all other elements of this exciting programme.

You will be enthusiastic about encouraging young people to develop their skills and interest in film and the film industry. You will work with EIFF’s Youth Advisory Group to promote, shortlist and curate the New Visions Short Film Competition and its EIFF screening event. You will research and book industry talent for our schools outreach programme and connect with a wide range of local agencies and youth groups to ensure EIFF Youth reaches as wide an audience as possible. You will ensure our communications – website, social and published materials – are clear and enticing to our target audience. You will work closely with other EIFF teams in Marketing, Press, Development and Programme Planning.

This is a full-time, temporary position.

Dates: mid-March to mid-October 2022

This job is located in Edinburgh. Initially working from home due to Covid-19 restrictions, with some meetings and facilitation of activities in person, at Filmhouse on Lothian Road in Edinburgh and/or other venues as required.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the CMI.
