The Institut Français in London is recruiting a part-time Weekend Reception and Ticketing Officer.

Comprising a language centre and a cultural centre (with two cinemas and two libraries), the Institut Francais in London promotes French culture and language and encourages cultural exchange between France and the UK.

Throughout the year, it offers French language courses, film screenings, concerts, debates, youth activities and numerous festivals, as well as a range of off-site activities.

The Institut Français is recruiting a Reception and Ticketing Officer for its Cultural Centre, part-time on weekends, at 17 Queensberry Place, South Kensington, London.

The start date for this role is 28 August 2024.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Welcome, guide and provide information to users and callers
  • Represent the institution’s image, promote its activities and sell its cultural offering
  • Manage ticket sales, memberships and the collection of fees for the use of spaces
  • Participate in the management of general affairs (registering visitors and deliveries, reporting maintenance requirements).

Requirements

  • Education to A-Level
  • Fluent in English and technical French
  • Knowledge of the cultural and artistic environment appreciated
  • Knowledge of the institutional environment appreciated
  • Fire training
  • First aid training

  • Professional experience in reception and/or sales desirable
  • Communication, listening and mediation skills
  • Public and telephone reception techniques

This is a part-time role requiring 17.5 hours work per week across Friday to Sunday. There are two positions available with a rotating schedule.

The gross monthly salary is £1,161 with an additional transport allowance and annual leave of 18 days.
