Volunteer Photographers

BFI Flare

London

Salary: Unpaid (expenses paid)

BFI Flare: London LGBTQ+ Film Festival is the UK’s longest running and most popular LGBTQ+ film festival, with over 22,000 admissions and over 50 features and 100 short films representing the best in contemporary and archive LGBTQ+ cinema from around the world.

All this would not be possible without the support of our festival volunteers, who assist with various activities including hospitality, signposting, providing support and information. The contribution of our volunteers helps make the festival happen.

BFI Flare is looking for volunteer photographers to take photos of guests attending the festival, events and Q&A sessions.

We are seeking volunteers with a friendly manner and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels. Some prior experience of photographing events and the ability to capture great shots in low light environments is desirable. Applicants will need to have access to their own camera and flash as we are unfortunately unable to provide this equipment.

Volunteers will be based at BFI Southbank (nearest station is Waterloo) but there may also be the opportunity to assist at other festival venues. In return for your time we will provide an allowance for travel and food, plus a chance to enjoy the festival itself.

Applications close on Friday 1st March or earlier if sufficient numbers are received.
