Volunteer Opportunities

BFI Future Film Festival

London

Salary: Unpaid

The BFI is looking for a team of enthusiastic and committed volunteers to help us during the Future Film Festival, our annual film festival for 16-25 year olds between Thursday 21st – Sunday 24th February 2019.

The festival includes screenings, Q&As, ‘in conversation’ discussions, book signings and networking opportunities.

We are looking for people who have a strong interest in films and film-making, and want to get some experience in events and customer service, and filming and editing events.

This is a great opportunity to learn how a busy youth film festival is run, and you will have plenty of opportunity to enjoy various events during the festival.

The BFI Future Film Festival supports young filmmakers and film enthusiasts aged 16-25 from all across the UK and internationally. The festival is packed with practical workshops, industry masterclasses, panel Q+A’s and networking opportunities. We also screen the best short films submitted by talented young filmmakers aged 16-25 every day of the festival, carefully selected by our team of young programmers from over 1300 submissions from across the UK and around the world.

As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of festival support roles including: manning the festival ticket and information desk; looking after guest speakers; ushering; microphone running; serving refreshments in our networking areas; filming and editing events, vox-pops and interviews for output on our social media. Please let us know if you have any experience in events, customer service or filmmaking in your application.

To apply please complete the online application form available via: https://bfijobsandopportunities.bfi.org.uk

Applications will close on Monday 4th February 2019 or earlier if sufficient numbers are received.
