The BFI is seeking volunteers with excellent communication skills, a friendly manner and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels for the 66th BFI London Film Festival.
About BFI London Film Festival
BFI London Film Festival is the UK’s leading film event and one of the world’s major film festivals, attracting significant international industry participation. It’s also one of the BFI’s major cultural activities in the year introducing the finest global cinema to expanding London and UK-wide audiences.
The BFI London Film Festival takes place from 5 October – 16 October 2022. The annual event presents c.160 feature films from more than 70 countries, and in 2021 attracted attendances in excess of 290,000 across London, in cinemas throughout the UK, and online.
All this would not be possible without the support of our festival volunteers, who assist with various activities including hospitality, meeting and greeting guests, signposting, providing support and information. The contribution of our volunteers helps make the festival happen.
About the Role
We are seeking volunteers with excellent communication skills, a friendly manner and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels. Some prior event or administrative experience is a bonus but not essential as we will provide opportunities to develop your skills.
Volunteers will be based at BFI Southbank, Royal Festival Hall and other festival venues. In return for your time we will provide you with the opportunity to develop new skills, an allowance for travel (within London zones 1-6) and a voucher for food, plus a chance to enjoy and experience the festival itself.

Application Process
There will be two intakes of volunteers who must be available for either:
- Intake 1: Training w/c 12 September and volunteer from 19 September
- Intake 2: Training w/c 26 September and volunteer from 5 October
