Wellington Orbit is looking to employ a Volunteer Co-ordinator in a part-time capacity (15 hours per week)

About the Role

We seek someone with excellent spoken and written communication skills and the ability to articulate things well and concisely. The right candidate will be very well organised and can work cheerfully under pressure. The Volunteer Co-ordinator needs to utilise diplomacy and tact, respect confidentiality, and remain calm but be assertive where necessary. Understanding team dynamics and working well within a changing team with people of varying abilities and needs is essential.

Our Volunteer Co-ordinator will have a strong degree of common sense, and the ability to their initiative and prioritise competing tasks. Use of email, the internet, bespoke computer programmes and Microsoft Office is integral to the role, so computer skills should be sound.

Hours are to be worked flexibly over 7 days between the hours of 10am – 10pm, to regular ensure contact with all Volunteers, but predominantly shifts will be between Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm and arranged in advance in agreement with the Manager.

This role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract with a view to extend, subject to funding. A six month probationary period is in place.

The role is contracted at 15 hours per week (0.4 FTE), for a salary of £9,385.20 per annum actual (equivalent to £12 per hour).

The place of work is Wellington Orbit, 1 Station Road, Wellington, Telford, TF1 1BY and this role reports to the General Manager. The successful applicant will work with the General Manager and Office Manager/Administrator to recruit, organise, induct, train, sustain and support Wellington Orbit Volunteers across a variety of volunteering roles, acting as the first point of contact for all existing and potential Volunteers.
