Sci-Fi London is seeking a great team of enthusiastic volunteers to make the festival a huge success.

The festival is back once more with an exciting and renovated edition between 19 to 22 June at Picturehouse Finsbury Park.

About volunteering

Volunteering at SCI-FI-LONDON is a fun and rewarding experience. You will be working as part of a team to ensure that the festival is a success; before, during, and after the event itself.

We will hold a pre-festival virtual/online meeting where we cover health and safety regulations at the venue, outlining roles, requirements, and procedures, and take the opportunity to meet and greet our team of volunteers for each year’s festival. This will be on May 28th at 7pm

We will then discuss availability for shifts and begin to draw up a rota for the festival. If you would like to volunteer for the festival we will ask you to commit to at least two shifts (about 4 hours per shift)

If you have a passion for science fiction and want to be a part of an amazing event, then we want you on our team! We need volunteers to help with a variety of tasks including:

• Taking care of the registration desk and guest list tickets
• Ushering and crowd control
• Set-up and tear-down of the festival space
• Guest relations and hospitality
• Marketing and social media promotion
• Assisting in the parties and networking events.
• Assisting with Sci-Fi-Do (our very own cosplay event for pets!)

We are also looking for volunteer photographer(s). If you are interested, please send us an email with a link to your portfolio. If you don’t have a formal portfolio, just send us a link to your social media pages if you think that would be reflective of your skills and style.

We will also need some extra hands to help to dress the venue the days prior the festival so any artistic/design hands are more than welcome. Please, outline your interest and availability regarding this in the application.

Let us know in the form if you have specific skills or would like to have a specific role during the festival.

Perks of volunteering

As a volunteer, you will be issued with a SCI-FI-LONDON limited edition T-shirt to wear during your shift.

Snacks will be provided while on shift.

We will also cover reasonable travel expenses. Please do get in touch with us as well if you would like to discuss this.

Access to watch the films/attend the events when not on duty + access to the online programme.

The opportunity of meeting really nice open minded people with creative and similar interests.
