Salary: £23,433- £27,690

The BFI is seeking a Video Conservation Specialist to join its technical operations team at the BFI National Archive in Berkhamsted.

Focusing on legacy video format replay and digitisation, you will engage in all technical operations for a variety of television and video conservation projects, utilising your skills, knowledge and expertise to ensure master video tapes are replayed to the highest possible standards in support of mass digitisation for long term preservation of the nation’s television heritage.

You will have a good understanding of the technical principles of video tape as well as the challenges involved in digitising analogue and digital video materials on a large scale, along with experience using a range of computer based systems, media file formats and media players – and an organised, constructive, problem solving approach.

This position is available on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2022.
