Act One Cinema is seeking a Venue Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the cinema and gallery space.
About Act One Cinema
Act One Cinema in Acton is London’s newest cinema and galley space. Funded by the local community, we have taken up residence in the old library building with a brand new 72 seat screen and exhibition/ events space. The site also houses a separate café/bar.
About the role
We are seeking a Venue Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the cinema and gallery space. They will be required to schedule films, manage the cinemas technical equipment and operate the projector when on duty (training can be provided). Acting as the main contact for private hires and gallery bookings, they will also be responsible for ensuring that the building is always safe and welcoming to visitors. The Venue Manager will assign the weekly volunteer rota and train and manage the volunteer team.
The right candidate will be able to demonstrate confidence in a customer facing role and calmness under pressure. Act One plans to screen a wide array of films and special events, so you will need to be adaptable and solution driven.
Experience of working and managing a team in an arts or a hospitality venue is preferable and evening and weekend work is required.
