Salary: £32,000 to £35,000

Catford Mews is a brand-new venue that will embrace Catford’s rich and vibrant culture. We’re transforming a 23,000 square foot Poundland into a 3 screen cinema, live performance space, food market with local vendors, recording studios, coffee shop, bar and community spaces.

Catford Mews aims to support local businesses and develop a creative community who will be able to work, create and perform all under one roof and reach out to the community through affordable performance and learning. We will be front and centre of the exciting regeneration of Catford.

We are committed to contributing a share of profits back into the communities which we serve by empowering local entrepreneurs, subsidising space for the community and focussing on education and training for young people.

The Really Local Group has ambitious plans to expand to five new sites over the next three years and we are looking for people who can join us on this journey.

The role

As Venue Manager at Catford Mews you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and facility management across the various functions of the site. This senior role reports directly to the Operations Director and requires a candidate who will relish the responsibility of running a vibrant cultural venue and managing and motivating a diverse team.

You will be designated premises supervisor and responsible for creating and implementing key procedures across all aspects of operations on the site, ensuring health & safety, risk assessments and fire safety procedures are implemented and maintained by performing regular audits and inspections.

Excellent communication skills will be required as you will be recruiting and leading a team of staff to run the cinema, bar and live entertainment at the venue. To ensure the smooth running of the venue, you will need to develop great relationships with venue partners (such as our food vendors & recording studios) as well as external contractors (such as maintenance personnel, security guards and cleaners).

Operating within budgets and meeting financial targets will require a good head for figures and you will be responsible for gathering data from our vendors and providing regular management updates to the company leadership.

Ideally, you will be a personal license holder, with the ability to ensure licensing goals and objectives are adhered to across the site. You will also liaise with the local council, police, fire and environmental health organisations to ensure the site meets the expected standards.
