Trustees

Manipulate Arts

Edinburgh/Remote

Salary: Expenses Only

Manipulate Arts is seeking new Trustees to support us in championing, developing and presenting visual theatre, puppetry and animated film in Scotland and internationally.
Role details:
  • Voluntary role
  • Minimum three-year term
  • Applicants can be based in Scotland, the wider UK or internationally
Role outline:

To ensure effective oversight in all areas of the organisation’s work, Manipulate Arts wishes to represent a broad range of skills and experiences on the board.

For that reason, in the current recruitment round for new trustees, they are particularly seeking people with experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Professional practising artists, ideally in the fields of visual theatre, puppetry or animated film.
  • Cultural Leaders from Scotland, including those in either executive or programming roles.
  • Those with good networks within areas such as the charity sector, business, or links to local and national statutory bodies in Edinburgh and across Scotland.
  • Legal and governance expertise.

As they are recruiting for several trustee positions, Manipulate Arts is also keen to meet with applicants outside these sectors. They want the board to mirror the diversity within their work and aim to ensure that the board represents a wide variety of intersectional and lived experiences, and are encouraging applications from anyone with lived experiences that are under-represented in the arts.
