Talent Executive

Film City Futures

Scotland (various)

Salary: £36,000 per annum

Film City Futures requires a Talent Executive to join the existing team delivering Short Circuit, Scotland’s hub for filmmaking talent. We support the creative and professional development of new and emerging writers, directors and producers.

Role

Short Circuit is a film talent initiative for Scotland, delivered by Film City Futures in partnership
with Glasgow Film, and backed by Screen Scotland and BFI NETWORK.

As Talent Executive, you will co-lead the design and delivery of a programme of activity across
Scotland to identify and support early career filmmaking talent. Our programme includes
SHARP SHORTS, providing funding for up to nine teams to develop, produce and distribute
their short films, and FIRST FEATURES, our fund for talent who are developing bold and
compelling fiction projects with theatrical ambition.

The Talent Executive will work closely with our existing team, including another Talent
Executive with complementary skills, and with the wider Film City Futures and project partner
Glasgow Film teams to ensure seamless support for filmmakers across Scotland.

Your background may be as a script editor or in a similar role supporting creative talent
through the script development process.

You will be well-connected within the screen sector or wider cultural industries, able to work
collaboratively and report to multiple stakeholders. Most importantly, you can balance a varied
workload and demonstrate an ability to identify and develop talent and their projects.

You will embrace environmental sustainability and social inclusivity in your approach to talent
development and will reach out across Scotland’s diverse regions, working from a grassroots
level up, to ensure that the widest range of people are aware of, and can access, our
opportunities.
