Film City Futures requires a Talent Executive to join the existing team delivering Short Circuit, Scotland’s hub for filmmaking talent.
We support the creative and professional development of new and emerging writers, directors, and producers.
As Talent Executive, you will co-lead the development and support of emerging film talent in Scotland. You will be expected to proactively identify talent and provide creative feedback on their projects, along with strategic support for how to navigate the screen sector today. Our programme includes Sharp Shorts, providing funding for up to six teams to develop, produce and distribute their short films, and First Features, our fund for talent who are developing bold and compelling fiction projects with theatrical ambition.
The Talent Executive will work closely with our existing team, including another Talent Executive with complementary skills, and with the wider Film City Futures and project partner Glasgow Film teams to ensure seamless support for filmmakers across Scotland.
Your background may be as a creative producer or in a similar role. You should have experience in script development/editorial and screen production. Confidence with a budget is important and you should be well-connected within the screen sector or wider cultural industries, able to work collaboratively and report to multiple stakeholders. Most importantly, you will balance a varied workload and demonstrate an ability to identify and develop talent and/or projects.
You will place social inclusion and environmental sustainability at the core of talent development and conduct active regional outreach, working from a grassroots level up, to ensure the widest range of people are aware of and can access opportunities.
Contract Terms: This is a full time, fixed term contract until 31st March 2024.
Location: Our Talent Executives must be based in Scotland, primarily at Film City Glasgow. A hybrid model of in-office and homeworking is currently in place. Some travel within Scotland, the UK, and Europe, may be required.
