UK distributor Dogwoof is looking for a part-time fixed term UK-based ambassador to coordinate outreach campaigns and assist with event production in five regional UK cities, working closely with independent cinemas to reach new documentary audiences.

There are 5 roles in total, please specify your chosen area:

Reporting into the marketing and theatrical sales teams and working on the ground in , the local city, the individual will be part of an exciting campaign for the upcoming release of Jennifer Tiexiera and Camilla Hall’s SUBJECT, in cinemas from 17th February.

Unpacking the ethics and responsibility inherent in documentary filmmaking, this powerful rallying cry for the film industry puts some of most successful documentaries of the past three decades under the microscope, revealing the impact their commercial success has had on the lives of the onscreen participants.

Focusing on the present day “stars” of The Staircase, Hoop Dreams, The Wolfpack, as well as The Square and Capturing the Friedmans, this film brings together a plethora of influential names in the doc space—Sonya Childress, Sam Pollard, Thom Powers, Gordon Quinn, and more—who speak to the ethics of documenting people’s trauma.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify, nurture and secure key partnerships with local film organisations on a city/regional level
  • Build relationships with and engage local stakeholders: this will include local organisations, filmmaking communities, independent storytellers / creatives / journalists and more
  • Event production/logistics for the Q&As as set up by Dogwoof
  • Sourcing and securing of hosts (TBC)
  • Talent and non-talent management and coordination
  • Social media and email marketing outreach
  • Ad hoc administration

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Experience with engaging cinema audiences (1-2 years)
  • Confident and knowledgeable in film marketing, partnerships and grassroots marketing
  • Proficient at organising and facilitating events
  • Local knowledge of one of our key regional cities
