Senior Project Manager - Digital Creatives

National Science and Media Museum

Bradford

Salary: £37,000 per annum

The National Science and Media Museum is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of a new programme – Digital Creatives.

About us

The Science Museum Group (SMG) is here to inspire futures. As part of this world-leading collective, the National Science and Media Museum (NSMM) in Bradford explores the culture of image and sound technologies and their impact on our lives.

Over the next few years there will be huge cultural investment and activity in Bradford District, particularly driven by the opportunities offered by City of Culture 2025 and a renewed focus on the region’s creative industries. NSMM is playing a key role in local and regional initiatives and is now looking for a Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of a new programme – Digital Creatives.

Digital Creatives is a collaborative project which will deliver a compelling programme of creative activity offering opportunities for young people in schools across Bradford to develop their creative voices through a range of activities in partnership with nationally, and internally recognised multi-disciplined artists. This activity is developed and delivered in partnership with Arts Council England, Bradford Council, The Bradford Culture Company (Bradford 2025), Bradford Cultural Education Partnership and is part of Born in Bradford’s Age of Wonder programme, one of the world’s biggest studies of adolescents.

About the role

You will have a unique opportunity of joining the project at the start to plan, manage and deliver this ground-breaking new project!

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the design of, and deliver, the Digital Creatives programme supported by the NSMM Head of Screen and Cultural Engagement.

Activity will take place across a number of Bradford schools, supporting young people to access workshops and creative sessions from world-class artists. You will help to build a programme of ambitious activity working in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure a joined-up and comprehensive approach. You will be part of a committed and ambitious team and manage a Digital Creatives Coordinator.

This post requires a flexible approach, working both as part of a wider team but also driving forward delivery remotely. Desk space is available at the National Science and Media Museum but there is also a requirement to attend varied Bradford-based locations as required to deliver the project. This will be a full-time opportunity, on a fixed-term contract until 31 July 2025.
