Open City Docs School is recruiting a School Manager to oversee the organisation and development of their documentary training projects including Open City Docs School courses, courses run for UCL as well as supporting MA and MFA students with distributing their work and building links to the industry after graduation.

Key responsibilities

  • Organisation and development of Open City Docs School training courses, working within the larger umbrella of Open City Docs.
  • Coordinate Open City Docs School CPD courses
  • Coordinate courses run for UCL by Open City Docs
  • Manage administration and budgeting for all Open City Docs school activities including projected budgets, book-keeping and regularly reporting on income and expenditure. You will work with Sage Online Business Accounting software.
  • Contribute to development of support programme offered to MFA students including arranging internships, connecting students with industry and arranging visits to international festivals – you may be asked to accompany (at our expense) students on one such trip each year
  • Handle distribution of student graduate projects from MA and MFA course including submitting to festivals, arranging screenings and assisting with promotional materials.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to promote the courses, providing copy and images where required as well as advising on target audiences.
  • Assist with general office administration where necessary.
  • Fundraising for educational projects and activities to grant foundations, private patrons and corporate sponsors
  • Contribute to educational projects as part of the annual Open City Documentary Festival to make the festival accessible to students and younger audiences
  • Manage any assistants, paid or volunteers, and intern(s) as required per project
  • Participate in team meetings and overall strategy for Open City Docs and its associated projects
