About the role

This is an opportunity to join an exciting, fast paced, dynamic international company with an exciting slate of projects in a hands-on junior position. The role is one of support for the Sales Department and is a wonderful chance to gain skills, knowledge and exposure across a range of aspects of the business.

Job specification

Working with the Sales Department on matters including:

  • Ensuring sales estimates, availability lists, sales sheets, producers reports are up to date;
  • Inputting data into rights management software (MovieChainer), and running reports for Sales team;
  • Acting as first point of contact often for the company, both in London and also to manage the flow and function of the office at festivals & markets including Cannes;
  • Taking minutes and reporting team meetings (on all sales related matters including submissions, offers and contracting, production updates, collection, etc.);
  • Managing 2 x Sales Executive agendas for markets;
  • Taking minutes and preparing internal agendas for external meetings;
  • Managing availability lists (mostly through Excel reports and MovieChainer) and providing distributors key information before markets;
  • Tracking sales offers and completed sales during markets (primarily sales made at Cannes, TIFF, AFM, Sundance and EFM) and ongoing throughout the year, always ensuring up-to-date information across various reports;
  • Managing the distributors list and keeping track of production and financier details on all databases;
  • Managing all areas of market prep, including but not limited to managing two executive agendas, creating comprehensive sales books and preparing sales data printouts while ensuring all accurate reporting;
  • Prepare regular mail-outs for distributors (screening links and reminders, announcements and reviews, meeting requests);
  • Analyzing project commercial value worldwide, assisting with compiling casting and director lists;
  • Assisting with drafting pitch letters for new titles;
  • Liaise with the marketing department across announcements on titles;
  • Provide written analysis and coverage for new projects, currently a minimum of two scripts a week (prior knowledge of coverage not a pre-requisite);

Job requirements

  • Outgoing and culturally curious with a strong interest in relationship building.
  • Strong attention to detail, with capacity to build a thorough understanding of data management including data input.
  • Strong desire to learn and develop skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of people at all levels of careers/stakeholders.
  • Proficient utilization of Office Package (including Excel) and Adobe Acrobat with knowledge in InDesign a plus.
  • Experience with Mailchimp, or adept and receptive to acquiring proficiency.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter who can prioritize and complete multiple tasks at a time.
  • Must be versatile and adept, always willing to envision the big picture and to operate autonomously (sometimes without instruction) as well as collaborate as part of a tight-knit team.
  • Must be comfortable working in a varied, high-speed and demanding environment.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Passion for cinema and a keen interest in entertainment industries.
  • Foreign language is a plus.
