The National Theatre is dedicated to making the very best theatre and sharing it with as many people as possible. We stage up to 30 productions at our South Bank home each year, ranging from re-imagined classics to modern masterpieces and new work by contemporary writers and theatre-makers. The Broadcast Department manages the short form content, trailers, documentaries, backstage footage and archive recordings for a variety of stage productions for the National Theatre’s digital platforms, including producing content for Learning and National Theatre Live. National Theatre Live launched in June 2009 and we not only work with in house productions but with many of the leading producers in the world of theatre. Seen by over 8 million people around the world, our department also directly manages distribution to venues across the UK and more than 65 countries internationally.
National Theatre Live is approaching its tenth year of producing the highest quality cinema broadcasts of some of the most exciting and renowned plays in British theatre, and taking these out to a global audience in 65 countries.
The National Theatre is committed to growing its distribution in the UK and globally through NT Live and we are looking for a talented, driven and commercially minded Sales and Distribution Manager to lead the distribution team. This a key position within the NT Live team responsible for the distribution of NT Live worldwide and delivering our distribution strategy.
You will be responsible for maintaining and developing our relationships with a range of partners on NT Live and will be working directly with key National Theatre departments, our UK cinema partners, international distributor and our distribution vendors.
You will also manage the existing distribution team, identify areas for growth, maximise sales opportunities and ensure successful delivery of all requirements for non-live screenings.
This role would suit someone who has experience working in distribution at a managerial level and of negotiating commercial contracts and managing relationships with key stakeholders.
