Espresso Media International is looking for an enthusiastic Sales & Acquisitions Executive to join their growing team and distribute our best-selling content to their multi-platform partners.

Established over 21 years ago Espresso Media International is a rapidly growing international TV distributor, specialising in high end documentaries, factual entertainment and lifestyle content. With a boutique style, we create bespoke marketing plans in order to pre-sell and license content globally on behalf of our international producers, many of whom are award-winning. Our clients include TV networks and streamers worldwide, such as Channel 4, Discovery, Nat Geo, Netflix, Al Jazeera, ARTE, Peacock and many more, as well as in-flight and educational institutions.

Job purpose

As the Sales & Acquisitions Executive you will work closely with the Head of Sales and Acquisitions, across all areas of our documentary catalogue. You will be responsible for duties across the whole sales process, locating and pitching to new and existing clients at international markets, via sales calls and emails, as well as negotiating and drafting contracts, and keeping our rights management software up to date. On the acquisitions side you will be sourcing, assessing and recommending content for acquisition based on Espresso’s content strategy, whilst negotiating deal terms and co-ordinating distribution agreements; plus maintaining relationships and being an effective point of contact to our existing producer base.

The ideal candidate
  • Has a keen interest in documentary and factual programming
  • A good understanding of the TV distribution landscape
  • Is an excellent communicator, well versed in dealing with a range of external and internal stakeholders
  • Is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Will be sales and target-driven with demonstrable experience of deal-making
  • Is a team player with an enthusiastic attitude
  • Is organised with great attention to detail
  • Will ideally have at least 2-3 years experience in a sales role at a TV distribution, production, sales agency, broadcaster or similar
  • Proficiency in negotiation skills
  • Experience of managing relationships with TVOD, AVOD and SVOD platforms desirable but not essential
  • Educated to graduate level desirable but not essential
