Safety & Wellbeing Lead

Salary: £57,471 - £67,902 per annum

The BFI are seeking a Safety & Wellbeing Lead to provide a professional, effective and efficient Health and Safety support service to the BFI across their five sites from Central London to Berkhamsted and Gaydon in Warwickshire.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To devise and agree a Health and Safety and Risk Management Strategy for the BFI with a year on year implementation plan to support this.
  • To ensure that all appropriate Health and Safety and Risk Management systems, guidelines, monitoring, reporting and follow through are in place.
  • To ensure that risks are properly identified and appropriate action taken to mitigate the risks to facilitate a safe working and visitor environment.
  • To report on Safety and Business Risk initiatives and KPIs in line with business requirements

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Significant previous experience working within Health and Safety including the ability to work as the lead expert
  • CMIOSH status with good working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
  • A proven track record of guiding organisations successfully through legislative change and introducing and implementing best practice
  • The ability to gain immediate professional credibility and confidence with managers, staff and external agencies
