The BFI is seeking a Race Equality Lead to join its Inclusion Team, to support the Head of Inclusion in embedding the BFI’s diversity and inclusion activity, leading the organisation’s commitments to Black Lives Matter and wider commitments to anti- racism. 

The successful candidate will support race equality focused activity in other BFI departments, our BFI Race Equality Network and the delivery of their strategic objectives. This is a one year fixed term contract position.

The role will provide practical and strategic advice for the Inclusion Team and wider industry. You will act as a key point of liaison between the BFI Diversity and Inclusion Team with key stakeholders the BFI Film Academy, FAN, NETWORK, BFI Education, and building wider relevant connections.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering anti- racism work, an ability to build positive working relationships with key stakeholders, and a good knowledge of broader diversity and inclusion issues within the screen industries.

In addition the BFI recognises that now more than ever there is the need for more tangible actions to be taken in response to racial inequality and/or disability. The role is predominantly based at Stephen Street; however, in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic all team members are currently working remotely from home until the foreseeable future.
