About the role

This role would suit a team player with excellent technical knowledge and keen interest in film. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual with knowledge of film formats, encoding and editing software and some QC experience to support our busy Blu-ray authoring and QC team. We are a small team, working closely together on all our projects. We work with cult, classic and horror movies, there’s never a dull moment when trying to achieve the high-quality output that the company is known for.

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Hours: Full time
  • Holiday entitlement: 25 days / year
  • Other benefits: pension, health scheme
  • Contract: permanent, subject to a six month probationary period
Key responsibilities and objectives
  • Calculate bit budgets and encode audio and video to industry standards
  • Carry out basic editing
  • Carry out video standards conversions
  • Create subtitling proxies
  • Assist the QC department with file and disc QC
Skills and attributes
  • Problem solving skills
  • Good working knowledge of audio/video, physical and digital formats
  • Knowledge of Blu-ray, DVD and UHD formats and functionality
  • Understanding of broadcast TV formats, both SD and HD, PAL and NTSC
  • The ability to seek out and learn to use new useful software whenever necessary
  • Technical skills and aptitude

  • Passionate about film
  • A good understanding of the Home Entertainment industry and familiarity with Arrow products
