Projectionist

Salary: £23,180 per annum (starting salary)

The Barbican Centre is a world renowned multi-disciplinary arts venue. Our cinema showcases the best international new releases, delivering major curated seasons, hosting international film festivals and leading in the presentation of the performing arts on screen.

We have an exciting opportunity available within our Music Department and we are looking to recruit a full-time projectionist. You will work as part of a team providing cinema projection, film handling and associated services to our Cinema Department.

You will need to demonstrate good projection skills, including digital cinema and video projection work as well as 35mm and 16mm film. Experience of art house cinema would also be a distinct advantage. To be successful in this role, you will need good interpersonal skills to be able to communicate clearly with the Cinema team and film professionals of international status. We are looking for someone who has experience in lighting control and sound engineering who is able to work independently, ad demonstrates excellent team work.

Please note, the workload for this role is event driven and will include evening and weekend working, and additional hours above the normal 35 hour week may be necessary.
