The Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival is seeking a Production Manager to provide project management support for the festival and manage the festival’s website.

The Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) and Birmingham Indian Film Festival (BIFF) are together Europe’s largest Indian film festival. Over the last 11 years, we have garnered a reputation as the ‘punk rock of Indian film festivals’, presenting a cutting-edge selection of the very best new independent cinema from the Indian subcontinent and its worldwide diaspora. LIFF is now looking to expand its festival into Manchester in 2021.

Reporting to: Festival Producer

Functional responsibility:

Providing project management support for the cinema based festival and managing the festival’s online websites

Hours worked:

Two days per week on average. From time to time the role may require out of hours working related to travel, attendance at evening events, industry events and/or film festivals. The expectation is that the post holder will be available throughout the main festival week.

Term: Fixed term, immediate start

Location: Remote working, must be based in London during festival

Job specification
  • To work with the Festival Producer to deliver a programme of screenings and events for the Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival
  • To manage and update the festival website and streaming platform, collating assets from producers/distributors and other stakeholders
  • To line manage and supervise the Volunteer Managers
  • To liaise with and/or in following up potential leads for partners, sponsors and advertisers
  • To collate and disseminate data from the festival’s evaluation process
  • To work with the festival’s Marketing and PR teams and Regional Outreach Coordinators to help in the successful delivery of the festival’s marketing objectives
  • To ensure that the reputation of the festival is upheld in terms of high-quality delivery and clear communication with partners, ensuring future goodwill
  • To undertake any other reasonable responsibilities with regards to this role
  • Manage own workload, priorities and administration effectively.
  • Provide clear and timely reporting to the Festival Producer on all aspects of progress and management of your work.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and best practice in both internal and external
  • Receive supervision and appraisal and be committed to own professional development; proactively setting goals and aims as part of this process
Person specification
  • At least 12 months proven Project Management experience working, or voluntary, experience within a cinema, film festival or other cultural venue
  • Proven experience in managing websites (WordPress) and working on OTT streaming platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as high-level interpersonal skills.
  • A self starter with organisational and administrative skills including numeracy, literacy and fluency with office IT
  • High attention to detail, can manage own work-flow, and confidential or sensitive information. Can work flexibly by managing the changing task priorities and problem shoot
  • Proven budget management experience, maintaining updating spend via an excel spreadsheet.
  • Demonstrated ability and tools to organise workload, use electronic communication systems and email, plus manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • An energetic approach to and understanding of the need for communication with a wide range of partners, stakeholders, teams and internal and external colleagues.
  • Proven passion for film exhibition and moving image
  • Can work evenings and weekends as part of the job role commitment
