Part Time Cinema Technician

Salary: £11 per hour (£13 per hour after probation)

Electric Cinema White City & White City Screening Rooms, located in the heart of the former BBC Television Centre White City, is looking for a part-time projectionist.

Part public cinema and part members screening room,  Electric Cinema White City & White City Screening Rooms complements our existing five cinemas and screening rooms in the UK.

About the Role

The 44-seat Screen 1 is open to the public and is our Electric-branded auditorium, with a programme of the best new releases from across the world. Screen 2 (32 seats) provides daily screenings for our Soho House Members, screening up to 20 different films a week on top of a regular events schedule. Screen 3 (27 seats) is popular for private hires and our clients range from premieres, film festivals, distributor screenings, press launches, private parties and filmmakers’ rushes.

About You

The site is fully digital with 4K laser phosphor projection in all screens, Dolby Atmos, 3D and satellite capabilities. As such the position requires a wide range of skills including knowledge and experience of all forms of film and video formats. AV/IT knowledge and experience is preferred as well as the ability to work with different computer systems and processes.

The ideal candidate will have technical cinema experience, and will be flexible and hands-on, able to work well within a team, and comfortable liaising with clients . Candidates will be required to work 20-25 hours a week, including weekends.

As well as the technical aspects mentioned above, the role will require the meeting, greeting and seating of our guests and members. A friendly and personable attitude is therefore key.
