Picturehouse is looking for an Outdoor Cinema Coordinator to assist in the smooth running of the Picturehouse Outdoors season.

About the role

Picturehouse Outdoors is going on the road again, bringing the Picturehouse experience to a variety of outdoor venues across England, showcasing a wide variety of exciting films and delivering the best experience possible to our guests.

This year’s season will run between June to September 2024, and we are looking for a hardworking, energetic, and an organised person to assist with the preparation and delivery of our outdoor pop-up screenings. The ideal candidate would have administrative experience, and the ability to fulfil the functional side of the role to a very high standard alongside the drive and resilience to support the operational activities.

The Outdoor Cinema Coordinator will report directly to the Outdoor Cinema Manager and will assist in the smooth running of the season, creating a safe, welcoming environment and delivering the highest possible standard of customer service.

Picturehouse Outdoors is part of Picturehouse Cinemas who operate 28 cinemas across the UK and are a stand-alone division of Cineworld PLC

Candidates must ensure the availability to work flexibly due to the nature of the role. Please note there is a requirement to work full-time hours, which includes working at all the outdoor screening events, which will take place on weekends/evenings during the summer.

Location: This is a remote role, the location of the screenings will vary throughout England. Applicants must hold a full driving license and be confident to drive a 3.5t Luton or LWB van.
Contract: Full-time, temporary
Hours: 40 per week

Job Purpose

The key responsibility of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the Outdoor Cinema season, with a focus on delivering on all Health and Safety Responsibilities and delivering the best possible experience for our guests.

Main duties

Before the event

  • Assist the Outdoor Cinema Manager with any pre-event preparation that might be required
  • Attend the pre-season training and testing session in May 2024
  • Assist with any other required logistics / tasks for Picturehouse’s Operations Department during the season dates

Ongoing (In conjunction with the Outdoor Cinema Manager)

  • Liaise with the host cinema and local cinema teams to communicate event plans.
  • Liaise with Marketing Department to ensure full promotion of events.
  • Liaise with Sponsorship Department to ensure that all sponsorship requirements are managed and delivered correctly
  • Liaise with Picturehouse venue management teams to ensure that all aspects of the event are organised correctly
  • Deal with any customer queries / issues that are received directly
  • Set up and monitor ticket sales
  • Set up Point of Sale (POS) and facilitate retail transactions

Delivering the event (In conjunction with the Outdoor Cinema Manager)

  • Logistics planning
  • Driving a 3.5t Luton or LWB van to/from the events
  • Loading/Unloading the van – You should be comfortable with manual handling, heavy lifting
  • Site Management (Setup / Takedown)
  • Delivering the Picturehouse experience to our guests
  • Setting up the cinema screen
  • Projection equipment operation
  • Ancillary equipment operation
  • Serving on the bar/box office
  • Event management
  • Venue Liaison
  • Partner Liaison (Sponsorship)
  • Adherence to health and safety legislation
  • Nominated First Aider

After event

  • Assist the Outdoor Cinema Manager with any post season decommissioning that might be required
