Salary: £42,000 to £45,000 depending on experience

MUBI is looking for someone to join their team in New York or London as Notebook Editorial Manager.

MUBI is a rapidly growing global streaming service curating the world’s best cinema. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in New York or London to oversee commissioning and editing for our English-language online film publication, Notebook, as well as contribute to our biannual print magazine of the same name. Working closely with our Editor-in-Chief in New York, you would be central to bringing exciting, incisive, and diverse film criticism to our subscribers and extended readership.

Responsibilities
  • Commission and edit texts for daily publication covering independent and arthouse cinema culture
  • Manage Notebook’s daily digital editorial workflow, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Conceive and oversee new editorial initiatives
  • Scout for and nurture new writing talent
  • Serve as Contributing Editor for the print-only Notebook magazine
  • Conceive and post social media content
  • Monitor analytics to evaluate readership patterns and growth
  • Collaborate with Content and Marketing teams to support MUBI programming
Our ideal candidate

The Notebook Editorial Manager needs to be passionate about movies beyond the multiplex, with a rich and varied knowledge of the contemporary, as well as historical, international film landscape, as well as familiarity with contemporary English-language film criticism. They need to have at least three years of experience in an editing role at a cultural publication. Excellent communication skills are essential in order to coordinate between an international roster of contributors and across departments within MUBI. A desire to explore the magic of cinema in new ways and open the art up to new audiences is essential.
