Marketing Manager

Salary: £34,000

The Rio is looking for an outstanding Marketing Manager to form an integral part of the Senior Management team.

You will play a significant part in driving Rio’s success to the next level. Building on the cinema’s amazing reputation for its programme and events, you will need to be ambitious, strategic, proactive, data-savvy and able to develop excellent relationships with partners. Your communications skills will be exemplary, and you must have a passion for film, community and hosting exceptional events.

You will be responsible for developing and managing the overall marketing strategy and delivering innovative campaigns for a varied programme of mainstream, art house and independent films and special events. You will actively promote other areas of the business too, such as the Café/Bar, private hires, membership and the Rio Player.

The right candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to build new audiences through data-informed analysis and create targeted and imaginative campaigns. The Rio has become one of London’s most in-demand locations for events and hires and you will also need to be adept at publicising non-film events too.

Working alongside and supported by Executive Director Oliver Meek, you will be part of an expanding network of community cinemas. The Rio is now programming and operating two other sites, the Phoenix in East Finchley and ActOne in Acton. You will also develop and implement the marketing strategy at both sites and strive to make all three sites welcoming community spaces, which are commercially successful and deliver an excellent customer experience.

Based at the Rio in Dalston, you will also spend time at the Phoenix and ActOne. Some evening and weekend work will be required, as will some to travel to represent the cinemas at national and international level.
