Glasgow Short Film Festival is looking for a Marketing Assistant to join their team.

The Marketing Assistant will support the Marketing Manager in delivering all promotion and communications of the fifteenth edition of Glasgow Short Film Festival (23-27 March 2022). In particular they will help to develop and deliver a digital promotional campaign and to generate conversation and buzz around the festival programme. Elements of the programme may be presented online, in which case the marketing assistant will help devise strategies for engaging audiences across Scotland and the UK, many experiencing GSFF or even any short film festival for the first time.

This is an office-based position as far as restrictions allow, with some flexibility for occasional working from home.

  • Working period: 1 February to 31 March 2022
  • Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Job duties
  • Support the implementation of digital and print marketing campaigns
  • Post to and monitor the festival’s social media channels
  • Maintain and update the festival website, blog and newsletter
  • Resize images and post copy for website listings
  • Liaise with the Films Assistant to secure complete film materials for print
  • Edit film synopses for publication
  • Proof-read festival publications
  • Assist the Marketing Manager by carrying out any other tasks as required
Person specification (Essential/Desirable):
  • Experience of working in a digital marketing or communications role, with some literacy in relevant digital tools and apps (E)
  • The ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines, with excellent attention to detail (E)
  • A creative self-starter, anticipating and planning for eventualities without day-to-day management (E)
  • Positive, outgoing and resourceful attitude, a good communicator (E)
  • A passion for film (D)
