Maintenance Technician

Tyneside Cinema is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide maintenance support, in collaboration with the team of Technicians, to ensure that all facilities and premises affiliated with the Tyneside Cinema are in good working order, and that the Cinema runs smoothly and can deliver outstanding customer service in a safe and sustainable way.

Key responsibilities

1. Perform regular maintenance tasks on-site, including minor building maintenance, bulb replacement and general handyman tasks so that equipment and facilities are in good working order at all times.
2. Assist with the supervision of maintenance, repair and annual testing by subcontractors of all installed and portable electrical appliances to comply with regulations and Cinema protocols.
3. Perform decorations across the grade II listed building.
4. Report any building and equipment maintenance issues using the organisation’s maintenance reporting systems, to ensure that issues are dealt with effectively and promptly and escalated where appropriate.
5. Adopt effective work practices, proposing improvements where possible, which minimise the environmental impact of the Cinema so that its environmental sustainability targets can be achieved.
6. Ensure that all areas are kept clean and tidy and any issues or concerns are reported, so that the Cinema’s facilities are presentable and safe for the public and staff at all times.
7. Perform weekly and monthly tasks such as utility readings, fire alarm tests, lift tests, emergency lighting checks and fire door tests.
8. Support the Technical & Building Manager to work proactively with clients and third-parties, facilitating effective interactions with the venue’s in-house facilities and personnel
