The BFI is looking for XR Venue Coordinators to join their team for the 2024 BFI London Film Festival (LFF).

We are looking for XR Venue Coordinators to act as the central point of contact on-site for all LFF Expanded exhibition activity for customers, BFI staff, contractors, and artists.

The XR Venue Coordinator will also support the smooth rehearsal and delivery of the exhibition, supporting accessibility across the venue, promptly reporting any operational, technical or Front of House issues to LFF XR management or technical team, as appropriate.

BFI London Film Festival (LFF) runs an Industry & Professional Programme of screenings, events, networking and informal marketplace for around 3,500 film industry professionals alongside the main public festival.

Fixed Term Contract: 1 October – 28 October 2024

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the LFF Expanded team, technical support and artists, to ensure the exhibition runs smoothly and technical issues are reported quickly. Resolving operational and technical problems where possible or immediately elevating the issue to the venue and or XR team.
  • Working in a collaborative capacity with a customer-focused approach. Ensuring that optimal customer flow through the building is maintained and optimising the customer experience.
  • Ensure artists, guests, and audiences are greeted warmly and courteously upon arrival at the venue and provided clear information regarding the exhibition. Ensuring exhibition spaces and waiting areas are presentable at all times.
  • Checking XR Hosts and volunteers have arrived in good time and have all required signage, equipment and information about the exhibition schedule or any changes to the availability of works. Where appropriate, support box office staff in resolving guest ticketing issues and supervise volunteers.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working at a film festival, cinema, exhibition or gallery space, with supervisory responsibilities.
  • A passion for and working knowledge of storytelling through immersive technology.
  • Demonstrable and significant previous administrative experience gained within a cultural organisation in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
