Festival XR & Immersive Production Manager

The BFI are seeking an XR & Immersive Production Manager to join the Festivals team to manage and oversee production planning and logistical delivery of the BFI London Film Festival XR and Immersive programme.

Fixed Term Contract until 03 November 2023

Key responsibilities include:

  • Take a lead on the delivery of the festival’s physical LFF Expanded Exhibition, through design, build and live event, in close collaboration with the Festivals Producer, XR and Immersive Programmer, partner venues and production partners.
  • Lead on directing the festival’s XR production suppliers, across design, build and technical management. Ensure that the suppliers are working in-line with festival policies and all requirements are being addressed.
  • Research and identify production suppliers to contribute to the delivery of the programme.
  • Maintain excellent partner venue relationships and team communication, acting as a central point of contact for serious issue elevation throughout the planning period and the duration of the Festival.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a festival, event or cultural exhibition environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of producing high-profile XR and Immersive Art exhibitions or events.
  • A passion for, and working knowledge of, storytelling through immersive technology
  • Expert knowledge in a broad range of studios, creators and artists working in the field of immersive technologies
  • Expert knowledge in a broad range of XR technologies, file formats, devices (HMDs) and streaming methods
