The BFI is seeking a Junior Press Officer to support press and public relations for priority projects across the BFI, with a focus on the BFI’s cultural output and some industry/partnership activity.

We are seeking a Junior Press Officer to support press and public relations for priority projects across the BFI, with a focus on the BFI’s cultural output and some industry/partnership activity.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of internal and external communications – including press releases, biographies, synopsis and background information
  • Support the BFI PR Managers, Press Officers and PR Director in devising tactical PR plans and managing a calendar of activity and priorities
  • Take ownership of agreed BFI Southbank monthly seasons and one-off events
  • Manage press enquiries on a day to day basis as well as to work proactively to pitch in stories via telephone, email and face to face

 Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in agency or in-house press and communications environment
  • Ability to communicate well – verbally, on the telephone, face to face and in writing
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to turnaround press materials quickly and accurately
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and to manage and meet deadlines

The role is predominantly based at Stephen Street, however, in response to the current Covid-19 pandemic all team members are currently working remotely from home until the foreseeable future.
