Salary: £24,996 - £28,728

The BFI is seeking a Junior Press Officer to support press and public relations for priority projects flexibly across the BFI, with a focus on the BFI’s cultural output and some industry/partnership activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and support on high profile press and publicity campaigns
  • Preparation of internal and external communications – including press releases, biographies, synopsis and background information
  • Support the BFI PR Managers, Press Officers and PR Director in devising tactical PR plans and managing a calendar of activity and priorities
  • Support the PR Manager on priority UK-wide blockbuster projects, BFI Southbank seasons and special events
Experience & Skills
  • Demonstrable experience in agency or in-house press and communications environment, preferably in the screen industries or arts, culture and heritage sector.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to turnaround press materials quickly and accurately, often taking complex ideas or scenarios and revealing news value
  • The ability to explain PR processes and approach to internal and external stakeholders, managing their expectations and influencing decision making
