Innovation Challenge Fund Manager

The BFI is seeking a Fund Manager to develop and deliver an innovation programme to support the UK’s screen sector, taking ownership of the day-to-day management of the Fund, including managing individual calls from the design stage through to delivery.
Fixed Term Contract: Until 31 March 2026
Contractual hours: 41
Key responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the Innovation Challenge Fund, including budget management.
- Develop evidence-based challenge calls (for example through reviewing existing literature and sandpits) and write accompanying application guidance.
- Manage individual calls: act as the first point of contact for prospective applicants
- Lead the promotion of the Innovation Challenge Fund to potential screen sector applicants.
- Manage live in-person ‘innovation hub’ learning sharing events every six months.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Significant proven experience of either a) commissioning and/or managing research, evaluation or administering funding in a third-sector (including public bodies) or academic environment, or within the screen sector or the wider creative and cultural industries or b) commissioning or managing innovation programmes.
- Significant experience of successfully designing or developing processes and procedures to support the delivery of programmes.
- Demonstrable experience of successful engagement and relationship management with stakeholders.
- First-rate project management and organisational skills, with a proactive and resourceful approach and the ability to monitor projects and deadlines effectively.
