Head of Global Screen Fund

Salary: circa £70,068

The BFI is seeking a Head of Global Screen Fund to finalise implementation plans for the fund’s launch in April 2021 and deliver its key objective of increasing the international export income and reach of UK screen content and business.

This role is a Fixed Term Contract until March 2022.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on the work in the framework of comprehensive spending review to ensure a robust bid to secure government funding for the fund beyond the pilot phase
• Promote and grow interest in the fund, encouraging engagement from the industry across the UK
• Help support UK independent screen content to compete effectively in the international market with a co-ordinated approach to structuring and implementing the fund.
• Provide strong leadership for the department, providing decision-making and guidance to direct reports, in launching, promoting and delivering the fund

Skills & experience

• Significant high-level experience in screen sector preferably working in a multiple stakeholder environment
• Extensive understanding of all elements of value chain in the screen sectors from development to production, sales, distribution, exhibition and promotion
• Significant international experience and knowledge of international markets
• Significant experience of staff leadership and management
• Highly developed advocacy and influencing skills, demonstrating ability to influence to the point of decision at senior level within partner organisations

The role is predominantly based at BFI Stephen Street; however, in response to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all team members are currently working remotely from home until the foreseeable future.
