About the role

The Head of Finance is accountable for financial systems and processes of the finance function and the wider business of the charity. For a full job description, please read our recruitment pack below.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified in CIMA, ACA or ACCA or qualified by more than 5 years demonstrable relevant professional experience;
  • Demonstrable experience of managing the company budget and subsidiary project budgets;
  • Experience of working with public and private grants and sponsorship;
  • Understanding and knowledge of VAT requirements when working with both grants and sponsorships, nationally and internationally;
  • Experience of closely managing cash flows;
  • Experience of working closely with and reporting financial information to senior management;
  • Experience of processing company payroll and pensions;
  • Excellent working knowledge of HMRC policy and company responsibility;
  • Excellent working experience of using SAGE Line 50 & SAGE Payroll software unassisted;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • Experience of line managing and motivating staff;
  • Flexibility to work outside of office hours at crucial times when workload dictates;

Desirable Requirements

  • Strategic thinker, experience as member of SMT or as part of business planning;
  • Experience of change management and systems improvement;
  • Interest in or experience working for non-profit or charitable companies;
  • Interest in or experience working in the and culture sector;
  • Interest in film, media and the arts;
