Castle Cinemas are recruiting for a General Manager for their new site, Castle Catford

Independent cinema group Castle Cinemas are thrilled to be bringing Castle Catford to life in 2026 and are seeking an experienced, inspiring and community-minded General Manager to help us open, grow and shape this exciting new venue.

Castle Catford will be our third cinema, joining Castle Hackney and Castle Sidcup. Run by the same team, it will share the same ethos, energy and commitment to its local community.

Castle Catford will be a three-screen cinema, bar/café, events space and community hub, with studio spaces for local makers, creators and everything in between. It is a hugely exciting project, and one that is much anticipated by the local community in Catford.

Summary

The General Manager is accountable for the success of the venue – leading the team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the cinema runs smoothly, the building is well cared for, and every guest has an outstanding experience.

Supported by Head Office and their Assistant General Manager, they lead the cinema’s Leadership Team, contribute to strategy, and actively drive growth and improvement.

At Castle Catford, the General Manager will join ahead of opening, giving them a rare opportunity to help shape one of our most ambitious venues from the very beginning. They will help establish the team, systems, standards and culture that will define the venue long after launch, while ensuring this busy, high-profile public space feels safe, welcoming, well-run and rooted in the local community.

Key details

• Job title: General Manager
• Reporting to: Head of Cinemas
• Pay: £36,360 per annum
• Working pattern: Full time, five days / 40 hours per week, with regular evening and weekend work
• The role will begin ahead of the venue opening, with time built in for onboarding, training and launch
  preparation. The exact working pattern during the pre-opening period may differ from the regular venue rota and will be agreed in advance
• Holiday entitlement: 30 days / six weeks per year (pro rata) inc public holidays, plus one additional day for
  every year worked
• Other benefits: complimentary tickets to screenings, discount on food and drink at the bar, company sick
  pay, additional leave for long service, cycle to work scheme
• Probation period: six months
• Term: Permanent
• Location: Catford, with some training in Hackney & Sidcup
• Start Date: Autumn 2026, exact dates tbc.
