The BFI is looking to engage a freelance coordinator to support the successful delivery of the 2023 BFI Future Film Festival online and at the BFI Southbank venue from 16 – 19 February 2023.

About BFI Future Film Festival

BFI Future Film Festival is an annual event providing young people between the ages of 16 and 25 with an opportunity to connect with industry professionals and find their own network within a community of aspiring filmmakers. Over the course of four days, the BFI plays host to a range of events and screenings that focus on helping aspiring talent break into the screen industry.

Project Outline
  • Coordinating Future Film Festival events, including communicating with key stakeholders, collating event assets, attending technical rehearsals, arranging travel and accommodation requirements for participants and supporting the production of pre-recorded events and launches.
  • Assisting and supporting the running of events on the day of the Festival, including leading on all communications with Future Film Festival filmmakers, supporting general Festival logistics, ensuring speakers and guests are informed, prepared and feel looked after, supporting all hospitality events and coordinating the delivery of the BFI Future Film Festival Award Ceremony.
  • Assisting with the creation of copy and image sourcing for event communications, including scheduling event communications and responding to and monitoring engagement on our social media channels.
  • Providing general support the Film Academy team in the lead up to the Festival.
We are looking for candidates who:
  • Have experience of scheduling and coordinating multiple in-person and online events.
  • Have experience of working with young people (16-25 year olds).
  • Have excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
  • Are able to work flexibly, including occasional early morning, evening and weekend work, within and outside of London.
Further information

The successful candidate will be paid a fee up to £130 per day dependent on experience. Payments will be agreed against set objectives throughout the course of the contract.
