Cambridge Film Festival is  looking to recruit an experienced Freelance Events & Volunteers Manager to assist the Festival Management team in the smooth delivery of the 2021 Festival and satellite events.

About Cambridge Film Festival

Cambridge Film Festival (CFF) is presented annually by the Cambridge Film Trust (CFT), a registered charity with a remit to foster film culture and education for the benefit of the public in Cambridge, the Eastern region and throughout the UK.

The Festival is the 3rd longest running film festival in the UK and the team is currently working towards the 40th edition to be held in cinema between 18 and 25 November 2021, supported by an extended online programme.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Freelance Events & Volunteers Manager to assist the Festival Management team in the smooth delivery of the 2021 Festival and satellite events.

Working for the CFF offers an invaluable experience of the operation of an established and successful Film Festival.

The role

Reporting to the Festival Management team, and working closely with the Festival Operations Manager, you will manage events and volunteers as well as the smooth running of the main Festival venue (the Arts Picturehouse cinema in Cambridge) and the CFF At Home online platform.

Period: 5 months, from August to December 2021.

Duties

Cambridge Film Festival (in venue 18-25 November 2021, with an extended online programme)

To manage the smooth running of the main Festival venue (Cambridge Arts picturehouse), including: liaison with venue partners and volunteers; preparing festival daily schedules and organising moderators; managing screen coordination; managing the audience awards; pre-festival liaising with Picturehouse technical team; and managing logistics for special events.

To manage the smooth running of the Festival online platform through liaison with CFF Online Technical Manager and CFF marketing team.

Interns / Volunteers

To manage all elements of volunteering, including: recruiting and line-managing a team of interns and volunteers for the Cambridge Film Festival (50+) to deliver an engaging and fulfilling volunteer experience for a diverse range of people.

The successful candidate will be proactive and have a audience focused approach whilst working in a team and in high pressure environments. They will have experience and competence in project and/or event management, excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to manage their own workload with minimal supervision and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
