Salary: £18,240 - £22,800 (152 days @ £120 - £150 p/d) dependant on experience

Falkirk Council are looking for an exceptional individual to lead on development and engagement activity as part of the friendly and dedicated team working on the Hippodrome Silent Film Festival (HippFest) 2023.

About HippFest

HippFest is Scotland’s first and only festival of silent film with live music, centred in and inspired by Scotland’s oldest cinema, featuring exceptional screenings, commissions, workshops, community events and touring.

About the Role

This is an exciting new role that will be vital in ensuring the Festival fulfils its strategic ambitions. Part of a small but dynamic team you will develop a broad range of partnerships for delivery and development, and source funding and sponsorship. You will be the main contact for community engagement – building and nurturing relationships and devising the Festival’s outreach programme. You will progress the Festival’s Accessibility ambitions, further develop the pilot Advisory Group and lead on the Youth Engagement programme.

We have secured core funding from Screen Scotland and committed funds from the Falkirk Council Arts budget to deliver HippFest 2023.

  • Fee: £18,240 – £22,800 (152 days @ £120 – £150 p/d) dependant on experience.  (FTE 0.66) (£27,600 – £34,500 per annum pro rata)
  • Term: 24 Oct 2022 – 29 Sep 2023
  • Place of Work: Blend of Council offices and remote working.

Interview Preparatory Material

As part of the interview we will ask shortlisted candidates to present a piece of work that will demonstrate some of the key skills required for the role.

Task: Please prepare a presentation that shows us how you would approach the first three months in the role demonstrating your understanding of the requirements of the contract. Your presentation should include a detailed activity timeline with specified project objectives, including – but not restricted to – funding and sponsorship, partnerships for delivery and development, Community and Youth Engagement.
