The Centre for the Moving Image’s Community Engagement Team is currently seeking an animator to produce a brief video highlighting the importance of captions within film exhibition.

The position will see you conceiving and creating a one-minute animated video highlighting the importance of captions (otherwise known as descriptive subtitles, closed captions, SDH, HOH) when it comes to inclusion and accessibility. The video will be produced as part of the Deaf Inclusion Project conducted by Filmhouse and Belmont Filmhouse and the chosen candidate will be working alongside a scriptwriter from the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

We want to hear from you if you have a passion for film, inclusion and accessibility, and you have demonstrable experience in animation. Applicants will be required to submit a CV, a work reel and a brief pitch (400 words maximum).

This is a part-time, freelance, remote-working role managed by our Community Engagement team.

Fee: £2,000, to be paid half upon commission and half upon completion.
