Salary: £24,000 - £25,000

Into Film is looking for a Film Curation Officer, reporting to the Curation Manager. We have two vacancies available, one full time, permanent role and the second is a two month fixed term contract, commencing in early February 2019.

The main function of the Film Curation Officer is to support the Curation team’s administrative needs. The Film Curation Officer manages enquiries and runs team project management and evaluation systems whilst also contributing meaningfully to the production of curation content and associated educational resources, in line with Into Film’s Programming Policy and Audience Development Strategy, across Into Film’s product strands.

Person specification

  • At least one year experience of of working in a film exhibition environment.
  • A love and knowledge of film, an excellent eye for detail and experience of managing databases and content management systems.
  • An understanding of the educational value of film and the ability to communicate this to educators, young people, the film industry and the Into Film team.
  • Good knowledge of the film industry, specifically the roles and operations of distributors, festivals and cultural organisations. A broad knowledge of film, including British, Specialised and Heritage film.
  • Experience of writing about film, ideally for 5-19 year olds and educators and confidence in representing Into Film at a junior level both internally and externally.
