Salary: £30,141 - £35,622

The BFI are seeking an experienced coordinator to manage the administration for the BFI Film Academy and support the Film Academy Project team.

Fixed Term Contract: until 30 June 2023

We are seeking an experienced coordinator to manage the administration for the BFI Film Academy and support the Film Academy Project team in effective delivery, development and management of the programme, to sustain relationships with our 47 BFI Film Academy partners, and to provide support to other education and skills programmes and projects.

The BFI Film Academy provides opportunities for young creatives who are aged 16 to 25 and interested in learning or working in film to develop their skills and start a career in the film industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnerships – act as the first point of contact for BFI Film Academy delivery partners, providing relevant information and guidance as required.
  • Grants – receive, log and check the eligibility and completeness of project applications, appointing external assessors where required and ensuring all documentation is up to date.
  • Qualification delivery support – act as the Exams Officer for the NCFE qualification ‘Preparing to Work in the Film Industry’, managing participant registration and documentation.
  • Programme administration – assist in managing the budget as well as maintaining and compiling necessary information and documentation.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Educated to a degree level or an appropriate professional qualification, or equivalent, related to project management.
  • Proven experience in a project administration or coordination role.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) with stakeholder management experience and ability to work with multiple partners in a persuasive, flexible and articulate manner.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage a heavy and varied workload especially related to high level administration and project monitoring.
