With an array of extended events, screenings, and workshops, our festival is a pivotal platform for filmmakers and film enthusiasts. We are currently expanding our UK marketing team, seeking a highly motivated individual to spearhead our marketing initiatives and enhance our festival’s visibility both within the UK and on the global stage.

Role overview

As the Social Media Manager for the UK, you will be at the heart of our digital engagement strategy, shaping how our brand connects with audiences across social platforms. Your role involves deep audience analysis to understand the preferences and behaviours of our UK audience, developing a content strategy that resonates across diverse platforms, and managing our online community. Through creative direction, influencer partnerships, and meticulous social media platform management, you will enhance our brand presence, foster engagement, and drive our marketing goals forward in the UK market.

Key responsibilities

  • Audience Analysis: Conduct regular analysis to gain insights into the demographics, preferences, and behaviours of our target audience in the UK. Utilize this data to tailor content, optimize posting times, and refine engagement strategies to effectively connect with the audience.
  • Content Strategy Development: Create and execute a dynamic content strategy, maintaining a detailed social media calendar that aligns with our overall marketing objectives, seasonal trends, and significant dates relevant to the UK audience. This strategy should encompass a variety of content types, including educational, promotional, and engaging posts tailored for different social media platforms.
  • Creative Direction: Lead the creative direction of our social media content, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and relevance to the UK market. Collaborate with graphic designers, videographers, and content writers to produce high-quality visual and textual content.
  • Platform Management: Oversee the management of all social media platforms operated by the organization in the UK, keeping abreast of the latest platform features and best practices. Develop platform-specific strategies to exploit each platform’s unique strengths.
  • Influencer Partnerships: Identify and collaborate with key influencers and content creators in the UK who share our brand’s values and can authentically connect with our audience. Manage partnerships and content creation efforts to broaden our reach and enhance brand authenticity.
  • Community Engagement: Manage and engage with our online community, promptly responding to comments, messages, and reviews. Encourage a positive online culture and stimulate user-generated content to boost engagement levels.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Use analytics tools to monitor and evaluate the performance of social media initiatives, focusing on engagement, reach, conversion, and other vital metrics. Regularly prepare and present reports detailing social media performance, offering insights and suggestions for strategy refinement.
  • Crisis Management: Proactively monitor social media for potential crises or negative feedback, responding swiftly to manage and mitigate issues. Maintain a robust crisis communication plan tailored to social media contingencies.
  • Paid Social Campaigns: Design and oversee paid social media campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting strategies, and ad creation. Continuously monitor campaign performance to optimize for improved outcomes.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay informed about current trends, news, and updates within social media and the broader digital landscape. Adapt strategies swiftly to capitalize on viral trends or address potential challenges.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate closely with other departments (such as marketing, PR, and customer service) to ensure that social media strategies are cohesively integrated with the organization’s wider objectives.
  • Content Creation: Follow the offline festival and create IG reels from filming to editing. [27 September to 5 October in London]

Job Period: 1 June to 15 October, flexible hours within this period. 27 September to 5 October in London.
